about our wallingford/north haven animal hospitalsExcellent Veterinary Care in North Haven & Wallingford, Connecticut

North Haven Animal Hospital and North Colony Animal Hospital in New Haven County, CT have earned a reputation for providing state-of-the-art veterinary care by a very experienced staff that meets and exceeds our clients' expectations every day. After attending veterinary school together at Purdue University, Dr. James T. Wells and Dr. Lewis Jolly purchased North Haven Animal Hospital in 1979. Twenty years later, they purchased North Colony Animal Hospital in Wallingford to provide medical care to pets in a larger area. Both hospitals are full-service facilities that provide wellness, medical and emergency care to their clients. Clients can be seen at either or both facilities as our paperless record keeping allows us to access medical records at both locations. The proximity of both facilities also allows clients to visit each hospital easily.

Our hospitals strive to provide the latest technological and medical protocols available while ensuring that you are informed and have a voice in the care of your pet. By understanding your options for the health care of your pet, we believe you are able to make choices that best suit your pet's needs. It is our goal to combine the latest in modern veterinary care with old fashioned personal care and service.

As animal care professionals, we understand that the best way to provide your pet with a long, happy, and healthy life while keeping veterinary costs down is through preventive care. This is why thorough, personalized wellness exams, combined with a balanced approach to vaccinations, are the cornerstones of your pet's health care at North Haven and North Colony Animal Hospitals. We also recommend and provide thorough dental care, dermatologic and cardiac care, thorough parasite screening and control protocols, microchip pet identification, a full range of diagnostic services, and more.

However, preventive care does not begin and end at our facility. When you come in for an appointment you receive important home health care advice as well as new information and recommendations for the care of your particular type and breed of pet. We care for companion pets as well as pocket and exotic pets.

We also understand that accidents and illness happen even to the healthiest of pets. This is where our hospitals truly excel. The skill and expertise of our veterinarians is enhanced by state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging equipment, in-house medical testing capabilities, a complete surgical suite, and a wide range of internal medicine expertise and resources. Our staff cumulatively has over 35 years of experience with veterinary care. This allows you to receive care for your pets from people you have come to know, at a familiar and convenient location, and at a cost far lower than most specialists charge.
